Counselling FAQs
Your Questions about counselling and therapy answered
How do I make an appointment with you?
To begin I offer a free and obligation 15 minute telephone consultation. You can tell me about what is troubling you and I can share with you, more about how I work and my approach to therapy. The consultation will help you decide whether I am the right therapist for you and I can tell you whether I can help you. To book a call please email markmahoneytherapy@gmail.com or call 07903 722341. If I do not answer please leave your number, name and a brief message.
If you're happy to continue we'll then book in your first session.
How much does counselling cost?
£65 per session. Each session is 50 minutes long. Payment is payable in advance by BACS transfer. I do offer discounts for booking multiple sessions. I realise counselling is an expensive process and can be long term. Please ask when we speak.
What happens in your first therapy session with me?
I've written a blog on this. Please click here to read about what to expect from your first counselling session.
How many sessions will I need?
I'm afraid this is impossible to answer but is always your decision. To give you an idea I have worked with clients from six sessions up to over 75 sessions. If you have limited time or a limited budget then please let me know. I offer time limited counselling. This could be useful if you have a very specific issue.
When do I work and do you provide online counselling?
I work week day evenings at The Centre for Counselling in Bromley. I offer both face to face and online counselling.
