Counselling for anxiety
Anxiety can show up in many different ways. You might feel constantly on edge, stuck in your head, or overwhelmed by thoughts that won’t switch off. For some people it’s a tight chest or restless sleep; for others it’s a quiet but persistent sense that something isn’t quite right.
Often, people experiencing anxiety are coping well on the outside, getting on with work, relationships, and daily life, while inside things feel exhausting or hard to manage.
You might recognise yourself here
People I work with often describe anxiety as:
• feeling tense, keyed up, or on alert
• worrying about things long after they’ve passed
• overthinking conversations or decisions
• struggling to relax, even when nothing seems “wrong”
• feeling irritable, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained
• finding it hard to sleep or switch off
You don’t need to relate to all of this for anxiety to be affecting you. Sometimes it’s the build-up of small, everyday pressures that slowly becomes harder to carry.
You’re not broken
Many people feel they should be able to “handle” anxiety on their own, especially if they’ve always been capable, reliable, or strong for others.
I don’t see anxiety as a weakness or something that needs fixing. Often, it’s a response to stress, pressure, or experiences that haven’t had much space to be understood.
Counselling can offer a place to slow things down, make sense of what’s been happening for you, and find a steadier way of relating to anxious thoughts and feelings.
How counselling can help with anxiety
In our sessions, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready, and no expectation that you arrive with clear answers.
Together, we might begin to explore:
• what your anxiety feels like for you
• when it tends to show up or intensify
• patterns you’ve noticed over time
• ways anxiety affects your relationships, work, or sense of yourself
My role is to listen carefully, help you reflect on what’s going on beneath the surface, and support you in developing a more grounded and compassionate understanding of yourself.
What to expect
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. I offer both in-person counselling in Bromley and online sessions. To find out more about how I work please click here.

Taking the next step
If anxiety has been affecting your life and you’re considering counselling, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call, which gives you a chance to ask questions and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no obligation, just a conversation to help you decide what feels best.
