Counselling for Overthinking
Many of the people I work with describe being stuck in their thoughts or own heads. Replaying conversation, worrying about what may happen or consistently second guessing themselves.
Overthinking often goes hand-in-hand with anxiety and stress, It can leave you feeling mentally exhausted and unable to switch off. Counselling offers an opportunity to say these thoughts out loud. Many of my clients have told me one of the biggest benefits of counselling is simply having a place to release the pressure.
Working together, we will find out some ways to manage the over thinking and to stop overthinking taking such a grip on you.
Common experiences of overthinking

How counselling could help
In our sessions we would explore;
-
the patterns behind your over thinking
-
what triggers the cycle of overthinking
-
ways to respond differently to those thoughts
-
how to feel calmer and more grounded
Above all, we would explore how you could reduce or stop the amount you over think, we would try to identify the causes of your over thinking and to try to help you, develop a different relationship with these thoughts.
